Hello, folks. Next month one of the stories from The Haunted Chamber and Other Stories is going to appear on The Wicked Library. I thought I’d give you a sneaky peak at the artwork by Alex Murd of Crazed Pixel.
What do you think?
Well, once again the new year has snuck up on us and it’s nearly February already! I’ve been somewhat absent from blog land recently but what with study and book launches and Christmas….well you know.
Anyway in 2015 I began the process of getting my name our there more as a writer. So let’s start with a quick recap of 2015 first:
So much for 2015. What is on the Horizon for 2016? Well I have been asked to be a contributor to Shadows at the Door’s first anthology. My story is being prepared and I’m just waiting on my contract. A Kickstarter campaign is due to launch in March (watch this space).
A Spirited Evening is now back in the Kobo store and can be purchased with 50% off, until January 31st 2016, with the code JAN1650 as part of Kobo’s sale. This code can be used as many times as you like up to the 31st on any book published though the Kobo Writing Life platform. So, lots of chances to help indie authors. #supportindieauthors . Don’t worry Kobo don’t reduce authors’ royalties to do this so everyone wins. (Offer applies to UK, US, CA, NZ and AU stores). I’m planning on having The Haunted Chamber available from Kobo soon as well now that its kdp select enrolment has ended.
I’m also hoping to get caught up on some reading and get back to reviewing. I’ve been very naughty and bought lots of books. I may need to be rescued from under a pile of paperbacks in the near future. I’ve discovered the British Libraries Crime Classics so my weakness for old books is threatening to get the better of me again!
I know things have been a little quiet on my blogs recently so I thought I’d break the silence today by sharing with you a quote from my latest release The Haunted Chamber and Other Stories, due out on the 31st of October. That’s right Halloween! It seemed like a good day to release a book of ghostly stories.
The Haunted Chamber and Other Stories is not a completely new book; Lifting the Veil was originally published as a short. Three of the stories were also previously published as Mysterious Tales but in all honesty that never really took off. So they’ve been tweaked and re-edited, and I’m much happier with them now. They are joined here by two brand new, never released stories and a brand new cover designed by an old college pal of mine. I discussed one of his other projects in an earlier post. Over all I’m much happier with this new release. Self publishing has been a learning curve and hopefully I’ve learned from my mistakes and wont make them again!
As always, your support is really appreciated. Thanks guys!
